<p><em>Opportunities for Social Rides</em></p>
<p>In this panel discussion, we&#8217;ll grill Greg Ritter (Austin Cycling Association, i.e. ACA), Keith Byrd (Social Cycling ATX) and Nam Phan (Skellicyclists) on the strengths, weaknesses, and future of group rides in Austin.

<p><em>Imagine Austin (Comprehensive Plan) / Strategic Mobility Plan</em></p>
<p>Representatives from the City of Austin will present and answer your questions about two major initiatives currently undertaken by the City of Austin.  Dave Sullivan, chair of the Planning Commission, and transportation bicyclist, will present the Austin&#8217;s effort to update its comprehensive plan, a.k.a. Imagine Austin.  Gordon Derr, Austin Transportation Department, Assistant Director of Planning, will introduce the Strategic Mobility Plan, an assessment of Austin&#8217;s transportation system, and an examination of where fixes are needed, for all transportation modes.</p>

<p><em>Bike Month</em></p>
<p>We&#8217;ll begin with a quick overview of Bike Month in Austin.  Then we&#8217;ll get into a discussion to come up get new ideas for Bike Month.  What are the possibilities?  What resources can we leverage?</p>
<p>Lest you say to yourself, &#8220;They must be crazy.  May (Bike Month) is only a few weeks away!&#8221;, keep in mind that May is also thirteen months away and twenty-five months away, too.  The discussion on Saturday isn&#8217;t needed or expected to have a significant impact on this year&#8217;s Bike Month.  However, this may prove to be an opportunity to recruit some last-minute volunteers, or provide inspiration for some trial runs of new Bike Month ideas.</p>

<p>Bringing together creative types and big-picture thinkers from in and around the cycling community, we&#8217;re here to talk about the possibility of collective efforts to grow ridership in Austin.  The obvious forum for these messages is in mainstream media.  Do you have any suggestions?</p>
